Criminal Injuries Compensation
The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) are a government organisation that can pay compensation to people who have been physically or mentally injured because they were the blameless victim of a violent crime such as assault or abuse. You may be entitled to compensation where:-
- You have reported the matter to the Police and co-operated with them (a conviction is not necessary).
- The claim is made within two years of the incident.
- You have sought medical attention on at least two occasions.
- Your symptoms have lasted for longer than six weeks.
Awards can range from £1,000 to £500,000.
At SP Law Solicitors incorporating Martin Adams & McColl we can lodge the application on your behalf, respond to the CICA’s enquiries, assess any offer that is made and ensure that you receive the maximum applicable award.
We offer a ‘no win no fee’ arrangement and will take no more than 25% of any compensation if your claim succeeds.
