SP Law was established in 2005 and was originally based on Stimpson Avenue in Northampton. In October 2012, SP Law merged with Martin Adams & McColl Solicitors, a firm trading locally since 1965. The firm then moved into newly refurbished offices at 110 Whitworth Road, the former Conservative Club building. In May 2017, the firm amalgamated with Ryan & Frost Solicitors, an experienced and well respected firm based in Wellingborough. As a result of this growth, the firm has an experienced team of Solicitors and we are able to offer a full compliment of services to our clients.
We are based in the heart of our local community and do our best to serve it. The firm has a modern outlook but with traditional values of excellent service and expertise at its core.
We advise on many areas including employment law, compromise/settlement agreements, divorce, landlord & tenant, personal injury, conveyancing, wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney and immigration.
For our business clients, we can also assist with a full range of business law advice and transactions including buying and selling businesses, company law, partnership law, business contracts, commercial property, commercial litigation and general small-medium business advice.
The practice has achieved the Law Society’s ‘Lexcel’ practice management accreditation year on year since 2010.
In 2011, we were the first firm of Solicitors in Northamptonshire to attain the Law Society’s ‘Conveyancing Quality’ accreditation.
After being nominated and short-listed in 2015 for “Small Law Firm of the Year “ at the Northamptonshire Law Society Awards, the firm were delighted to win the category in 2016.
In addition to English our solicitors can offer advice in the following languages: Urdu, Gujarati and Bengali.
Our current head office has an interesting history. The Whitworth Rd Conservative Club was formed in 1883 and Pat Darnell was its first president. Northampton Town Football Club was founded on 6th March 1897 by a group of local school teachers from the Northampton & District Elementary Schools’ Association, who got together with a well known local solicitor, AJ “Pat” Darnell in the Princess Royal Inn, Wellingborough Road, Northampton to form the town’s first professional football club. Pat Darnell was also Coroner for 40 years. Since 2011 the building has hosted the firm and the current Assistant Coroner for Northamptonshire. Its seems that the building is destined to always have a legal and Coronial connection!
