Paralegal

Joanne specialises in Private Client and assists clients with matters relating to Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate (Estate Administration) under the terms of a Will or intestacy as well as inheritance tax. With several years of experience, Joanne adds her wealth of knowledge and expertise to our Private Client Team. Her other areas of expertise include dealing with the Office of the Public Guardian and the Court of Protection.

After working for over 15 years at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Joanne decided on a career change into Law.  In 2013 Joanne commenced a two year Fast Track LLB Law Degree with the University of Northampton obtaining a First Class with Honours degree in 2015.

Joanne joined SP Law in January 2016 as a paralegal in the Private Client Team. During her time at SP Law, whilst working full time, she has completed the Graduate Fast Track CILEx Diploma with the CILEx Law School obtaining a distinction in Probate Practice.

Wishing to further her career Joanne took a 6 month sabbatical in January 2020 and commenced studying the Accelerated Legal Practice Course with the University of Law, Bloomsbury and graduated with a grade of Distinction.

Following her return to work full-time in August 2020 Joanne completed the final stage of her studies towards becoming a Solicitor and commenced Professional Skills Course with the University of Law, again obtaining an overall grade of a Distinction.  Joanne is now in the process of completing the formal process to become registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

With more than 5 years of experience in Private Client, Joanne is very passionate about and dedicated to the protection of her clients’ best interests and skilfully guiding them through what is quite often a most difficult time.

In her spare time Joanne enjoys going for walks and spending time with her family.
